Violence Research Centre

From March 2020 the VRC has been operating remotely due to lockdown constraints. Research themes linked to the pandemic were shared through virtual seminars (webinars) while our network of affiliated researchers continued to collaborate on papers on a variety of themes

In April we started a Covid page to share publications, webinars and other contributions from the Centre and the Institute of Criminology.

We are proud to announce two new research pages:

  • Crime during the Covid-19 crisis - a study aiming to document and analyse crime levels before, during and on the way out of the emergency regimes in a large number of cities worldwide

  • Crime and Networks Group - a group of researchers working on the application of social network analysis techniques to model and understand the mechanisms of violence, organised crime groups and illegal markets.

We are planning more virtual seminars open to all in the coming months, please keep an eye on our social media channels for invitations to zoom webinars.
