On Monday 27 January 2020, International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the VRC hosted a public lecture by Prof Manuel Eisner entitled Moral Neutralisation of Violence and the Perpetration of Inhumanities. The talk weaved biographical reflections on the link between family experiences and theories on moral disengagement with criminology topics.

Prof Eisner presented findings on the role of moral neutralisation in facilitating the perpetration of violence, a topic of great interest to historians, psychologists and criminologists.
