Dr Paolo Campana has just published a News & Views piece on child-trafficking routes in Nature Sustainability. The article is based on a ground-breaking study by Zhen Wang and colleagues, who applied a network approach to study child trafficking for the purpose of illegal adoption in China. The research is based on a dataset of self-reported cases collected by a Chinese NGO, Baby Coming Back Home. The authors analysed the trafficking path of 22,531 provincial-level and 22,139 city-level cases from September 1927 to August 2017. You can read the full article here.
